Safer Schools: Learn about the COPS SVPP Program
This 3-Year Program provides awardees with up to $500,000 in capital funding to implement, upgrade and expand security equipment and programming in your schools. Grant funds can pay for equipment that supports mass communication, access control, video surveillance, perimeter fencing and lighting, and more. While the predominant focus of this grant program is on bolstering security with equipment and technology, the COPS SVPP program also allows for a portion of the budget to be dedicated to personnel that will assist in the implementation of the project.
Both urban and rural school districts are encouraged to apply.

The RUS Distance Learning & Telemedicine Grant
This 3-Year program provides awardees with up to $1M in capital funding to implement, upgrade and expand education and health resources through the use of interactive video connections. Grant funds can pay for network components and access points needed to facilitate video connections, video licensing, endpoints, audiovisual devices, peripherals, content, and training. While the benefits must flow to the rural end-user sites, the funding can also cover the hub locations providing the educational content or delivering healthcare services (including healthcare education, public health, telehealth, mental health and substance abuse, school-based health, etc.).
